Finding the Right Bialetti Part
Bialetti parts are made for a specific cup size and material. An aluminium Moka Express gasket won't fit a stainless steel pot, and a 3 cup funnel won't seal in a 6 cup base. Check the size marked on your pot or count the cups it brews, confirm whether it's aluminium or stainless steel, then match the Bialetti part number in the product title.
Signs Your Moka Pot Needs New Parts
Coffee or steam leaking from the join between the top and base, coffee that brews too fast or tastes weak, and a gasket that looks flattened, cracked or hard are all signs it's time for a replacement. Fitting a new gasket and filter plate together is the quickest way to bring a tired pot back to full pressure.
Fitting a New Gasket
Unscrew the top, lever out the old gasket and filter plate, and clean the seat thoroughly to remove old coffee residue. Push the new filter plate and gasket in evenly, with the gasket's flat side facing down, then brew one or two pots to discard before your first proper coffee.
