Keep your beans fresher for longer

Coffee Storage

Fresh coffee starts to lose flavour as soon as it meets air, so how you store your beans matters. Our coffee storage range is built around Airscape canisters from Planetary Design, which use a plunger lid to push air out before sealing. Simply press the inner lid down onto your beans, let the one-way valve release the air, then close the outer lid. Less oxygen means slower staling, so your last cup from the bag tastes much closer to your first. Airscape canisters come in a Medium size holding about 500g and a Large holding about 1kg, in stainless steel, glass and a range of colours to suit your kitchen. Keep your canister away from heat, light and moisture, and avoid the fridge. They also work well for tea and other dry goods. Fill yours with fresh coffee beans and enjoy better coffee for longer. It is a simple, affordable way to protect the coffee you love.

What Makes Coffee Go Stale?

Oxygen, light, heat and moisture are the four enemies of fresh coffee. Once a bag is opened, air gets in and the flavour starts to fade. Good storage keeps all four under control, so your beans taste better for longer.

Where to Keep Your Beans

Store your canister in a cool, dark cupboard away from the stove and kettle. Avoid the fridge, as beans can absorb odours and condensation forms each time the container is opened. Buy coffee in amounts you will use within a few weeks of roasting.
