The Pullman Barista 'BigStep' Tamper Base originates from discussions with 20 year industry veteran from 2015 QLD Barista Champion Metelmann. The BigStep base was born from his desire for a base with the highest possible usable tolerance in size for competition baskets.
The BigStep refers to the design of the larger diameter stepped edge of the base, measuring 58.55mm. The base shape enables a maximum surface area of coffee to be covered during tamping, including the prevention of a pinched edge of coffee particles or vaccum effect that can occur when using a large or incorrectly sized base. The stepped edge design ensures no suction when tamping with maximum surface coverage. Made in Australia.
